GSM Gateway Interfaces for Door Entry Phones - A GSM Gateway or Fixed Cellular Terminal can be used to connect to a door entry phone instead of a telephone line or analogue extension. This provides a convenient solution when the door entry is too far away to have a telephone line or extension.

In a situation where it is not possible to supply a telephone line or PBX extension for a door entry phone, we are able to provide a GSM interface.
Rather than plugging the door entry phone into a phone socket, the unit is plugged into the GSM Gateway interface which has the same ‘BT’ type socket. Power is required for the interface and an aerial (supplied with the product) which will need to be sited to provide the optimum GSM signal.
A SIM card will need to be purchased by the end user for insertion into the interface and the Network Provider will need to be the one providing the best signal for the area. The SIM could be Pay As You Go or on Contract depending on level of usage and frequency of top up required to keep the Pay As You Go SIM in sufficient credit.
You can then program the door entry phone to dial a telephone number over the GSM network, the person answering the call can then control the door entry phone using DTMF tones in the normal way.
